There’s a right way and wrong way to breathe while you run. Most people do it wrong. According to Certified Personal Trainer Johnny Gillespie, an expert in human movement, not breathing properly could stress your body, putting your feel-good endorphins at odds with the stress hormone cortisol. In his latest blog, Gillespie advises runners to take a Suntheanine supplement about a half hour before a run. “While this is known to reduce stress, it’s also good for increasing your ability to focus,” he writes. “And right now, until it becomes habit, I need you to focus on how you’re breathing.”
